ABOUT

It all started as a young kid

For me the art of creating something is not an option but a necessity. It started as a very young child drawing scenes of WWI style airplanes fighting in imaginary dog fights, making paper cars that would slide across the floor when someone blew on them, drawing house plans for my dream home, sand painting, learning to play guitar, writing songs, experimenting in photography and on and on. It seems that I have always felt the need to create

I was elected

I became a web designer by election rather than choice. I was a guitar player in a band and since I had access to a computer it was my job to create a web site for the band. I taught myself to build the site using pure html. Thinking back those sites were really ugly compared to what I produce today. I discovered that I really enjoyed it and have kept my interest growing in it ever since

A shutterbug for life.

I have been a self confessed shutterbug ever since the 5th grade when my grandfather gave me my first Kodak 110 camera. The combined interests of Photography, Graphics and Web Design made it a no brainer for me to start a Web Design business. I’m sorta like a one stop shop for any business.

Back To School

In 2008 I found myself out of a job due to the economic mess going on at the time.  I took my layoff notice as an opportunity to send myself back to school mostly as a result of my interest in graphics, photography and web design. I attained my degree in commercial art. Here again I had to take a web design class using Adobe Dreamweaver. I enjoyed it and created a web site for a fellow photographer as a class project.

No Spring Chicken

I am not the young guy working out of his parents home and at the age of 51 I’ve been around the block a few times. I feel that I may be able to more closely relate to and understand the problems you have in your business. I have done many things in the course of my life and these life experiences seem to aide me in creating a design that will work for a specific project.

Easy To Work With

I am a people person and very easy to work with as well as talk to. One of my greatest personal strengths is that most people feel extremely comfortable around me which makes for a friendly working environment as well as good customer relationships that last.

Working With Gradient Web Design:
Our Process

Discovery

We start the project by having some discussions about what you want and need in a website.
We ask a lot of questions to gather information about you, your organization, your customers and a whole lot of other things so that we can give you the best site possible based on all that information. We also look at the content you have gathered any images you might have. Discuss a tentative timeline as well as any deadlines you may have

Kickoff

We initiate your design project in a kickoff, where we review the ideas for your site and the work required. We review deliverables (a fancy word for the images and content that you need to provide), timeline, deadlines, the project process and key success factors such as promotion.

Design

Here is where we get down to the business of creating your site. We may have additional conversations where we do some preliminary rough sketches then go back to the office to try and rough the idea out on the computer before actually getting into the nitty gritty of production.

Production

In this stage we attempt to bring to life the concept created in the design phase. This is where the nuts and bolts of your site are built

Testing

Once your site is built its time for Gradient Web Design to put it through it’s paces and test every little piece of of it. Every little animation and link has to work in order for it to get past this phase. This is also where any changes or adjustments to the design are usually made

Training

Training
Training is usually conducted around launch time depending on the services required. If you are someone who has a difficult time with technology and computers in general this may be a bit more extensive than someone who’s very comfortable with tech.

Launch

This is where we hand over the keys to your new website. This is also where you are ready for your prospective customers to see what you have done with your online presence. At this time your website is live and if you are an e-commerce site you can begin posting more digital products in marketplaces, You can also start promoting the launch of your new site in various channels, such as social media, signage or other printed materials.
